The above is a very well known saying and it is also true.
Do you find yourself always thinking mainly about the bad things that have happened in your life?

Many millions of people set goals they are initially excited about only to find a few days or weeks into it that they have lost all motivation to continue. It is only through setting goals, ambitions and targets for the future can people hope to achieve. How many times have we heard or said, "I wish I had done that" or "why didn't I take that opportunity or that job". They think it just makes no sense in setting goals because they have failed so many times in the past, and consequently they don’t want to experience those feelings of failure again.
When they didn’t succeed previously their self-esteem plummeted, they just gave up, or tried again without taking into account as to why it didn’t work the first time. They put the goal on a list and leave the completion date open.
There may have been times when difficulties started to occur,
so they simply gave up all too easily, they had made the goals for
themselves unrealistic or unattainable.
The main point I am making is - setting
and reaching goals should be empowering and it should make a person feel good about
themselves and their life !
